What is New Media?

New media is the transformation of existing media such as film, animation and newspapers (Friedman). The characteristics of new media consists of the 5 C's which are communication, collaboration, community, creativity, and convergence (Friedman). Much of what is known as Web 2.0 may be applied to the term new media (Friedman). Some examples of new media are blogs, myspace, facebook, and wikis (Friedman). New Media is very dynamic were any one can use it and be creative with.
